Job Description:
Seeking ER Tech! Baptist Health Floyd, Emergency Department Part-Time (24 Hours/Week), Mid Shift (11am-11pm) Job Duties:
The ER Technician functions as an on-shift team member under the direction of the nurse by providing delegated aspects of patient care and routine non-patient care unit maintenance tasks.
Their responsibilities include triaging patients, call lights, helping with varied procedure set-ups while maintaining sterile fields, cleaning and dressing wounds, assisting with casting & splinting, collecting swabs such as flu & strep, transporting patients, performing EKG's as requested, assisting with all resuscitations in addition to either performing Foleys & urine catheters or phlebotomy.
About the Department:
The Emergency Department (ED) has 41 beds divided between two pods with 37 private rooms.
A split-flow area is located near main triage and provides care to lower acuity patients.
This fast-paced ED treats an average of 160
patients per day.
ED staff encounter a wide variety of patients including acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries and psychiatric patients.
The ED is recognized by the American Heart Association as both a STEMI receiving center and a designated Primary Stroke Center.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
BLS certification from approved BLS course required, will provide training.
